We purchased this for my five-year-old's birthday, and I am so glad we did. The larvae came fast, and all five became butterflies! My daughter slept with them next to her through each stage, and even my almost-two-year-old enjoyed watching them and feeding the butterflies. We released them by our flower garden, and they stuck around. This kit is really low-maintenance, and you can get more larvae over and over. The larvae come with the food, so you don't have to worry about it. Make sure you open the package and order the larvae ahead of time if it is a gift.

This Butterfly Garden is the perfect gift for children: potentially educational, fun, easy to take care of, and also interesting for any adults around.
